About the Book
I published George Tavener's Memories of World War Two in 2011. George left school at fourteen, having been raised by his mother in the workhouse. He is currently hard at work on the sequel.
In the meantime, he has recorded a wonderful journey made in 2002 through the French and Belgian Canals he made with his friends Tony and Esther aboard “Duet of Arne”, their 8 metre Catalac Catamaran.
From Maldon in Essex they crossed the Channel and motored across France and into Belgium. Many incidents befell them along the way, some dangerous some amusing, but all recounted in George’s usual fluent style.
