The Vashon Island Strawberry Festival celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2007. Having grown to three days, the Festival offers Island arts and crafts in Ober Park, live music for two days and three nights at a half-dozen venues (all free), several blocks of booths on the automobile-free Island Highway main street, a 5k-10k walk-run race, a Firefighter Challenge right in downtown Vashon (you just might get wet!) and much, much more.

This book presents what many people feel is the true heart of Festival: the Grand Parade on Saturday morning, and the kids' parade that precedes it.

About the Author

John Sage
FinchHaven  Vashon, WA
I've lived on Vashon Island since 1979, but have been doing photography of one sort or another since I was in high school, which was a long time ago... After working as one of the founding Vashon Island Potters until about 1988, I went off to commuter-land and worked for King County for almost 15 years. It was time for that to end, I came back to the Island full-time, and started doing digital photography in earnest. I started out shooting Vashon High School sports, and Allied Arts youth dance and drama, and putting the photos up on my web site www.FinchHaven.com Now I shoot youth sports, club teams, artist's work, you name it.
