This photo book celebrates the past and present times of a department of the Adult Education Centre of the city of Düsseldorf (Schulische Weiterbildung der Volkshochschule Düsseldorf) in its 40th year. It celebrates an educational institution which gives the young and the not-so-young a second chance to finish school successfully and get on with their lives.

It is also the author's intention to present this institution as a place where art plays a huge part, and, last but by no means least, even as a work of art in its own right.
