About the Book
Near Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota, The Saint Croix River forms the boundary between Minnesota and Wisconsin. One of the first rivers in the United Sates to be designated a National Scenic River, it has been protected since 1968. Here is an opportunity for nature and man to respectfully interact.
In addition to images of the river, its backwaters, source and mouth, included are photographs of flora, fauna, river towns and crossings. A special section by Walter Mondale, tells the story of how the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act came about.
The book was the creation of Paul Garneau Clark who is responsible for all of its content. He has donated the book to the Saint Croix River Association as an opportunity to build awareness of the Saint Croix River, increase membership in the Saint Croix River Association and to generate funds for The Saint Croix River Fund.
The book is available to two sizes – Standard Landscape and Large Landscape. All proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to The Saint Croix River Fund, established for the purpose of protecting the St. Croix River and the natural features of its adjacent landscapes, including the native plants and wildlife that rely upon the river way for habitat and home.
