By my nature I am not an early riser nor do I retire early to bed. So I often see the sunsets first and the sunrises second. In any sequence they are viewed both are a delight to see. There are times they are mundane, or even unseen due to the skies being overcast. There are times, however, when they can just knock your socks off with their magnificence. At these two times of day there is a moment, a mere moment, when all is still and quiet. The breezes seem to stop, the birds are not singing, the critters are not stirring, there is not a sound to be heard in nature. It is that poignant pause between light and dark as they trade places. And, it is in that stillness when nature sometimes sets her celestial stage for one heck of an artistic showing. In that moment of stillness it’s exciting as you wait in anticipation.
I've had the fortune of seeing some sunrises and sunsets that were exceptional in their color and beauty while standing in my own front or back yards. For those of you who have not had the fortune of catching one of these moments the pictures herein are for you. For those of us who have had that opportunity I hope the pictures herein delight the senses and bring back fond memories.
