About the Book
Endeavour Homeward Bound recounts the six month, 14 500nm
voyage of HM Bark Endeavour, an exact replica of Captain James Cook’s ship, from Whitehaven, England to Sydney, Australia which began in November 2004.
The voyage is depicted by photographs and the diary of two permanent crew members. The photographs of the voyage coupled with diary extracts show glimpses of the bizarre contrast of modern day living on an 18th Century ship. It tells of sailing through busy shipping lanes as well as some of the most remote places on earth in the footsteps of Captain Cook.
