Big Sur Fires, 2008: In Pictures

I have called Big Sur my home since 1985. I have always felt blessed to live here, even during the wild fires which are a part of life here. Lightning started the Basin Complex fire in Big Sur on June 21, 2008. It wasn't contained until July 27, 2008, after it burned almost 163,000 acres or 250 square miles. This is the story of that fire in photographs. Very few words are employed here, and the book contains over 85 full page photographs.
