About the Book
As a photographer and an expatriate in Australia, I met a cultural diversity of open minded people in a group called ‘InterNation’ which provides a place for expatriates to meet and communicate each other, with empathy. It inspired me to create a Renaissance style portrait project, in reference to the art movement ‘truth to nature’. I wanted to portray international people as themselves. To facilitate this idea, I added optional prop choice, asking them to reveal a small object that expresses their personal and/or national character. I also suggested they add any gesture that makes them comfortable.
The 'identity' is my major theme on my photography and this project is not exceptional.
