About the Book
The theme “Reflecting on Switzerland” was an easy choice for this issue. Switzerland is a country that lends itself to the subject; architecture, car hoods and other man made objects, not to mention the lakes and (relatively) frequent puddles, naturally grab the photographer's eye with the wonder of reflected Swiss objects and landscapes. Sometimes the reflection is so perfect that it’s a miracle in itself. Sometimes the distortion is what draws us to pull out our cameras. You’ll see lots of examples of our love of Switzerland reflected in this issue!
But reflections are also about Switzerland itself. Its role in political and social history is remarkable, its involvement in the modern art world something to think about. That is why you’ll also find some shots that seem to have nothing to do with mirrors. They have everything to do with what Switzerland makes us think about.
