About the Book
Art on the Roof: Boston 2012 Collector's Book
Featuring 8 New-England-based Contemporary Artists
One Night Art Exhibition & Reception
September 27th (Thursday), 5 – 8 pm at MassChallenge, Inc.
From the rooftops of Austin to Boston – local contemporary artists sell their work to benefit local non-profits.
Art on the Roof is a sky high solution to selling art at a new level. In cities across America, each pop-up art benefit takes the artist out of the studio, the benefit out of the hotel ballroom, and the art lover out of the gallery. Shake, stir and enjoy as artists and art enthusiasts come together to benefit the community amidst art framed by the sunset.
Art on the Roof: Boston 2012 featured a catered reception and meet and greet with the artists, all while overlooking the Boston Harbor and the ICA. The contemporary art was selected by jurist George Wong, the newly appointed Director of LaMontagne Gallery in South Boston. Through a variety of media, the featured New England-based artists explored life in New England – both present and past. Featured Artists are Clare Asch, Bruce Barone, Kelly Burgess, Adam O'Day, Stacy Scibelli Catharyn Tivy, Margaret Rose Vendryes, and Sean Walker. Self-portraits by Dot Art youth artists were also exhibited.
