Mr. Emerson is the co-founder and Artistic Director of CityDance Ensemble, an award-winning contemporary dance company, film-maker and dance education organization based in Washington, DC. Mr. Emerson is a former Legislative Director on Capitol Hill for a Member of the US House of Representatives where he served as liaison to the House Armed Services Committee. He has worked on political campaigns for the White House, Senate, House of Representatives and Governor.
Mr. Emerson is a published author, a former broadcast journalist and disc jockey, and is host to Performance Moves, a cable television news magazine in Bethesda, Maryland.
During his tenure at CityDance Ensemble the company has won numerous awards, going from a part-time company to "Washington's preeminent modern dance company (the Washington Times)."
