About the Book
BOYS WILL BE BOYS AND EVEN WITHOUT EXTENSIVE RETOUCHING, THEY ARE SEXY AS THEY COME. PHOTOGRAPHER JAY DIERS KNOWS THIS AS NO OTHER AND HAS BEEN SHOWING IT TO US EXTENSIVELY. NOW HE OFFERS US HIS MEN IN YET ANOTHER PHOTO BOOK. THE PERFECT COLLECTION OF NATURAL LOOKING MODELS AND A PERMANENT REMINDER THAT MEN ARE SEXY, NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE. After his successful “A Night at the Motel” and “Raw Youth”, Jay Diers is back with yet another exciting photo book, “Flash.” Different from his previous publications, “Flash” does not have a specific theme, except that it offers a bright and clear view on what the state of Iowa has to offer when it comes to corn fed young men. Using very little props, “Flash” is a parade of sexy Midwest boys, au naturel, as seen by Jay Diers in his typical, non-apologetic way. Much like his Farm Boys Diaries, the men seem to have been plucked straight from the streets and farm lands, which have resulted in images that are fresh and surprising in their simplicity. It has been 5 years since Jay Diers published a book, but “Flash” definitely shows it was worth waiting for. Jay’s conscious choice to use a minimum of accessories, forces the boys to interact directly with the camera and therefor with you, the viewer. The simple and neutral backgrounds force your eyes to se only the subject of the portraits. Interesting cropping and framing keep the book dynamic and exciting. In contrary to his earlier publications, this time Jay Diers self-published the book. “Flash” can be purchased online but we warned, the book is only available for a limited amount of time. So get it while you can.
