Like many other Azoreans, I am a product of immigration; as such my parents have returned to their birthplace in a tiny island of Flores. In the summer of 2007 my sister Elizabeth and I visited with our respective families. Having lived in Flores ourselves for 7 years as children, we have a strong bond to the island which has played an important role in shaping us into who we are today. I'm glad to have shared this time with my family!
