About the Book
My drawings are deeply influenced by South American art and lyrical poetry. The use of white space within them is meant to evoke a sense of rhythm by focusing the attention of the viewer on the tension within uncanny scenes. I view each of the characters within a single drawing as representations of the same person, not unlike the Freudian view of dream interpretation which suggests that every person within a dream represents a part of the unconscious self. Finally, the imagination and what it can produce fascinates me. These works are an experiment in trying to access the most inadvertent expressions of that component of the mind.
