About the Book
I was sitting at my first live poker table, some twelve years ago at the Mirage. I was a nervous beginner. While sitting at the table some middle aged man gave me some advice. He said “The best way to become a better poker player was to sit down and on paper, write out your poker philosophy. By doing this, you can truly analyze how you think you play, and compare it to what you hear or have read.
One of the most important things to keep in mind while reading this; everyone must adapt to the table and to their own personality. Like any strategy, I have taken a little from a lot of reading and tried to put my own twist on it. I am very big on table position and watching what players do in front of you. I feel I play slightly more aggressive than most books would suggest. I believe you have to learn to protect your hand. Offense is the best strategy, in my opinion, but you must try to play mathematically and when the odds are in your favor.
