WARREN WILSON STYLE 2007
How We Will Look Now In 50 Years

These 200 pages of photographs were taken during the last week of February, 2007. They are of a random selection of Warren Wilson students, often dressed for cold weather. The purpose in taking these photographs was to get a sense of how WWC students present themselves in 2007. Just as photographs of the Asheville Farm School days now seem quaint and dated, these photographs, after being stored in the archives for 50 years, will seem interesting when looked back at from a time when these students are 70 (my age now). They will convey the odd way we dressed back in 2007 and will make these 70 year olds wonder about a time of carefree lost innocence.
We made this book as a team. We took turns taking photographs (not knowing now who took what), holding the reflectors and keeping records of the people we photographed. (More WWC photos at billybaba.com)

Asheville, North Carolina
I grew up in India where my parents were Presbyterian agricultural missionaries and have taught at Warren Wilson College most of my life. My photographs are of north India and Sri Lanka where I have traveled many times; of Germany, which is my wife, Kathe's, home; and of the Swannanoa Valley and Asheville, North Carolina and of students and staff at Warren Wilson College, in Swannanoa just outside Asheville. Lately I have also been photographing weddings at Hidden River Events.
