Color and Light

Click to preview book

Color is part of life. Color colors our perceptions. The right color at the right time makes us happy,
the wrong color can throw us into despondency.

Black & White images are powerful when they capture without color the moods and feelings that color normally conveys. That's why B&W remains so popular in spite of amazing color technology. In short, the appeal of B&W is the appeal of altered reality.

Realizing this, I grow increasingly less concerned
with capturing reality and mor concerned with perception. I explore ways in which modified color, modified form and modified dark spaces can imbue images with the same psychological impact
as those classic black and whites so many of us love.

About the Author

Peter Pazucha, photographer
ppazucha  Milwaukee, WI
I've been a photographer for more than 30 years, but much of that time has focussed on landscape and architectural work. I am not using the skills and insights into form and function to create imagery of the human body and human interaction. I'm less of a photojournalist and more of an artistic storyteller
