About the Book
This book is about Thai people; those we met briefly while travelling and those we know well from our home village in Isaan. These photographs represent people from the south of Thailand to the north and from west to east. We travelled extensively for six months before ceasing for a period at home in Baan Khampom, Isaan. I continued to document people and their daily activities for the next six months in this region, as well as visiting surrounding provinces. The people of Thailand are comprised of many sub-cultures from various surrounding countries; this makes travelling the 72 provinces of Thailand like exploring 72 different countries. Each province can present differing geography as well as culture, history and language. This is what makes travelling Thailand a highly sensory experience, something that could take a lifetime to achieve. This year long period of exploration attempts to document as many diverse people as possible within the constraints of this time period. I made the assumption that I should be able to achieve at least one interesting photograph each day.
