About the Book
In the late 1960s and early ’70s I had the good fortune to experience performances by many blues singers who were beginning to be noticed and appreciated by a young, primarily white audience. During this period I was able to see and hear the likes of Lightning Hopkins, Son House, Howlin’ Wolf, Fred McDowell, The Chicago Blues Stars, and B. B. King, many of whom are now gone. In several instances I brought my camera along to the show and captured some of their performances on 35mm film.
