Life Segments

“Life Segments” is a collection of photographs documented throughout the artist’s personal experiences within the 2008 fall semester. All of the photographs were edited in specific, yet unique ways in Photoshop CS3, in order to give each image a suitable feeling. The content of the book is set within a more personal context. Individuals that are presented in this book are close friends, relatives or someone I’ve randomly encounter with. My idea was to capture moments in time while the models were distracted or unaware that they were being photographed. Each large photograph of individuals represents different event from the artist’s personal life. The four smaller photographs, on each left page consisting of still-lives, portraits and landscapes, are related to the larger photo on the right.
With this book I wanted to share with you, the way I see personal memories. I’m sure every individual has their own way of seeing both their gloomy and happy memories. When I come across my childhood photographs from years ago, in my head I go back to those exact moments in time that are captured in these photographs. It’s maybe possible that I see my happy memories in vivid colors and sad in black and white. However “Life Segments” only holds color photographs…
