The Brooklyn House of Detention is the place, in Brooklyn, where individuals are physically confined or interned and are awaiting trial. It also houses prisoners for sentences up to one year.

This book explores the spaces inside the detention center at a time when there are no inmates serving time. The images observe the architecture and interior of a municipal structure meant to hold the incarcerated.
