About the Book
Many people look, but not everyone sees. I constantly strive to achieve the latter. I have approached Venice in this way and in many cases employed a technique of concentrating on the close up motif and deliberately keeping the depth of focus small. This all forces the viewer to look where they may not normally look and to see what I want them to see.
I have targeted the people of Venice, both locals and tourists, as well as the icons. Some mundane objects also appear before my lens, as I try to see Venice from a slightly different point of view. As an example, I hardly show anything of St Mark’s Square, but the people that populate it get a good showing. I find that far more interesting. I hope readers of this book also do.
