About the Book
Highway 105 is a collection of stories about the countless individuals from Burma (Myanmar) who fled their homes and traveled to the border of Thailand. Some are refugees, migrant workers, soldiers, outlaws, or victims of civil war and displacement. The journey was a nightmare for many. For others, the journey was just the beginning.
The author traveled along the border for 5 weeks, mostly on foot, to speak with as many ethnic groups as possible, including Burmese, Karen, Shan, Karenni and Akha. The stories detail migration, conflict, refugee health, and much more.
