About the Book
This is a portfolio of images made on my first visit to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve on an awe-inspiring day in late April 2013. Perhaps the most striking memory of those few hours is the ever-changing landscape and vast sky. I am told that the traditional Ute word for the Great Sand Dunes translates as "the land that moves back and forth." This book attempts to capture the thoughts and impressions of a first-time explorer to this remarkable land of unending shifting sands.
