About the Creator
Tom Parrish is an author, photographer, playwright, and filmmaker. His short film, A Still Life, won the Avery Crounse Award at the River’s Edge Film Festival in 2007, Paducah, KY. That same year he received a grant from the Peter S. Reed Foundation, New York. A Still Life played in 10 other film festivals in 2007 and 2008. He published a pictorial memoir, Changeling, in 2012. Several of his other short memoirs were included in A Second Breath, Writing through the Heart of AIDS, edited by Paul G. Krol and Joan Logghe, 1998. Two of his one-act plays were produced as part of Love Creek Productions One-Act Festivals, New York, Seen It All in 1992 and AIDS-Related in 1994. An early film, Mistress Moon, was produced by The New Video Workshop of WGBH, Boston in 1974. He studied with Walker Evans and John T. Hill at Yale University.
