About the Book
Self-portrait looks at the notion of a house becoming a home over the period of 6 months. The element of what it is to change and mould to your surroundings, to represent the trace of the human altering, leaving traces, creating clutter of a pile up objects or things in the representation of the alternative self-portrait of the persons living in an environment. An emotion and story through each photograph or set of photograph presents a time of significance while living in what has now become the development of a home. This book marks the beginning and near end of a year in which memories were created, froze, recorded and now to be remembered. A human is always present as you walk into a room, through smell, touch and sight, even though they may be absent. Character is created through what we may intentionally or accidentally do to create what is a home for us as individuals. The presentation of the autobiographical journey of a timeline of events completely honest to their nature and shows an intimate view of progression and questions the notion of private to public. What we may regard as mess or clutter, may tell a story of true emotion and traits of who we are.
