About the Book
As a passionate lover of food, I wanted to feature it in my capstone research project, and shine light on the fact that food can often be more than just everyday nutrients. For many of the people I interviewed throughout the making of this cookbook, I found that food often was a very important source of comfort after moving to a new country. Food can provide an emotional connection to a person's country of origin, and can evoke memories from earlier in life. While it is a cookbook and does feature recipes, I wanted the stories to be just as important as the food. Even though some of the countries have similar cultures, everyone's story is unique and different. I hope it is as enjoyable to read as it was to make.
