About the Book
A. C. Earle has spent a dozen years on Taiwan, and over 20 years working and living immersed in Taiwan culture. His command of spoken Mandarin and deep respect and love for the culture allowed him to photograph in places that aren't often known to, or accessible by, westerners. His experience with black and white photography allowed him to work with digital images in creating a book of photographs that explore Taiwan after its transition to a modern manufacturing center. Although it has made the transition, shadows of the past are everywhere. Those shadows were the seeds for the present, and Taiwan's unique blending of past and present as it moves toward the future.
