About the Book
The photos in this book represent a wide variety of trucks. The photos were taken by Stan Holtzman in California and Ohio in the 1960s. All photos are from the collection of David A. Bontrager. The trucking industry is a constantly changing arena, and when trucking history is gone, it's gone forever. Without photos like these we would not have any history of trucking.

My husband, Dave drove truck in the U.S. for 40 years with over 3-million safe miles. He started taking photos of trucks as a young boy in the 1950s, inspired by his mother who took photos of his dad's trucks beginning in the late 1940s. He passed away in 2019. His wife survives.
