About the Book
[English] ******
A compact glance of Japan: its traditions and modernity, its contemporary and ancient architecture, its people, its cuisine, its streets and gardens.
The photos were taken during a one-week trip and we only visited its two most famous cities - Tokyo and Kyoto - but there were by far too many impressions and contrasts to digest in such a short time.
Organizing our impressions in a book helps us to see more clearly the tremendous challenge the country is facing: How will they balance progress with their ancient beliefs? How does the flexibile spirit of youth coexist with the rigidity of previous generations? How do they keep the "zen" tradition alive, with the increasing pressure and speed of today's society ?.
The book contains a total of 134 pages of which only 2 pages at the end are personal photographs - all other pages are intended to represent - through the eyes of a traveler - a small part of Japan in 2014.
