About the Book
Over a period of almost a year the 4 team members - Phil Eccles, Russell Farrow, Alain Cormier and Tim Keen - planned and prepared the expedition. In August 2008 they launched their four, single seater kayaks from a shingle beach on the outskirts of Pond Inlet, Baffin Island. Five weeks later they were back having succeeded in seeing one of the Arctic's greatest wildlife sightings.

About the Creator
To earn my bread I work as a deputy head teacher of an outdoor education centre in north wales. More often than not I can be found teaching young people an assortment of adventurous activities that are designed to promote personal development. I kayak on the sea as often as I can and as a BCU level 5 coach I enjoy working and coaching in that environment too. In recent years I've been fortunate to be invited to teach at sea kayaking symposia in the USA and Israel. When not in a boat I love being in the mountains and riding either my road bike or mountain bike. At home I'm married to Jo and dedicate this book to her and all the support she has given me for this adventure and all my others during the 24 years we've been together. Travel, photography and writing come into the spectrum of enjoyment of my lucky life.
