My experience of Morocco from 2007 has left fond and vivid memories in me of a country filled with warm light and exotic colors, sometimes through dust and mist. Food was flavorful and aromatic with mild spices, people friendly, coffee strong and mint tea heavenly. I found traveling through this country untiring, with always a surprise to be discovered around the corner. If not awe-inspiring architecture, there are sights of wonder, moments of peacefulness, warmth of humanity, the taste of lamb Tajine, and the rhythm of music. I found a diligent people with a sense of cleanliness and peacefulness that comes from the ritual of incessant prayer.

Morocco is a blend of cultures: Romans left their footprint on this North African country 2000 years ago; there has been Arab infusion since the 7th century; Spanish and French influences came in more recently. But Berbers, the descendants of the earliest settlers, still retain their identity and culture.
