John McEvoy is an ecologist and photographer based in Ireland. His time as a field researcher has allowed him to travel to many places but always returning to the river and woodland he calls home. For me photography started from my passion for the natural world. I have since then moved into portrait and black and white photography but my favourite subjects are still the wild creatures and plants of the world. I shoot almost exclusively on 35mm film, only using a backup digital when film stocks run dry. I prefer the challenge of getting it right first time and the image quality you get with good quality film. My shots are never post edited, for me photography is about capturing what i see, so what i see is what you get.
