About the Book
From the desert to the sea, Liana's landscapes depict places she has lived and visited throughout her lifetime, including her beloved Cuba. The Happy Havana Series are imaginative memoirs of her lost island, a mixture of fantasy and abstraction. The Portrait Series includes various works of many personal friends as well as historical figures such as George Bernard Shaw and Ernest Hemingway. The Animals with an Attitude Series is aptly named as she captures the souls and expressions of wildlife throughout much of North America. The works within the Flower Series are immersed in colors and shapes, with a feeling for the fluctuations of light and reflections in their glass containers.. The Architectural and Abstract works are intricate shapes with contrasting brilliant colors. Several paintings do not fit into strict categories; Liana refers to these works as "The Sarcastic Ones."
As avid fans of Liana's works often comment: "Your paintings make me feel happy. I couldn't imagine life without them."
Liana has created a rich body of work that captures moments in time for all to enjoy.
