Kamogawa is a quiet seaside town on the Boso peninsula approximately 100 kilometers from Tokyo, Japan. It is filled with wonderful people who are cheerful and hardworking. There is no Western influence and a visitor is treated to an unvarnished view of the “real” Japan.

The author explores this cultural oasis through the eyes of a physician on sabbatical from a Medical University in the USA. Teaching Medical Residents in Japan has opened doors of insight into the cultural dimension of health and healthy lives. Through photographs and brief essays the author shares the view of a “Frog in a well.”
