John Seaman

New York, New York, USA
About

John Seaman began photographing young female nudes in 1989. His first models and many of his later one were college students, mostly from Columbia U. and Barnard College. Before 1989, John worked as a science writer and editor. He graduated from Swarthmore College in 1956. He has mostly lived in NYC since graduating from college.

He now lives in Morningside Gardens cooperative on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near Columbia U. He has shown his work in many venues, including the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in Chelsea, NYC, Swarthmore College, Riverside Church Emerging Artists League, Nimrod Restaurant and Jazz Club, and many others.

John believes his college age models pose just as well as more professional models, and often have a fresher and more unspoiled attitude. The bio picture above shows John with his model Trina. John is an active naturist. He also skydived on his 64th birthday.

John has published a 2012 memoir, "Bloody but Unbowed" at McNally Jackson Publisher, NYC.
