Some Days

In inspiration to get insight on myself. I did this project, shooting myself as the subject every day for a full year. It is better known as 365 on Flickr.com. What you will see here is the best of the journey that I took from November 9, 2007 to November 11, 2008.

Melanie’s love of photography appeared when she was young. She never pursued it until 1999 when she was hired by Princess Cruises as a cruise ship photographer to which she stayed aboard for over two years. After sailing the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Melanie believed it was time to get formal training at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology which she graduated in 2003 with a diploma in Photography Technology. Upon graduation she has been a member of good standing in the Professional Photographers of Canada-Alberta chapter. In 2005, she was awarded the Fuji Masterpiece Award for Portraiture.

Melanie is a people person who believes in capturing the inner spirit and soul of the person that she is photographing. Portraiture and wedding photography is her forte but she has no problem getting her hands dirty and trying something new.
