About the Book
All the images in this book are closely connected to a place. Some of those places are easily recognisable, because a famous landmark is included or the view is well known. Others could have been taken anywhere, but still they convey a close connection with the location.
The text accompanying the photos contain some information about the process of creating the image, which you may find useful. I hope you enjoy looking at these photographs as much as I enjoyed making them.

I am a self taught photographer from the Netherlands, now living and working in Scotland on the beautiful Isle of Skye. At age twelve I was taught the basics of photography by my father and I have been taking photographs ever since. I want my images to tell a story and the best ones are those that can tell many stories. Some of them can be true, but they don't need to be. I want to invite the viewer to think about the images, wander into them, and make up their own narrative. As can be seen from my work I like symmetry, rythm and balance. With my images I try to surprise, engage the viewer and show beauty in places and subjects from around the world and where you might not expect it.
