About the Book
In the Summer of 1981, 15 pupils and 4 teachers from schools in the Grampian Region of North East Scotland spent 4 weeks in the Hornstrandir Peninsula of North West Iceland.
The time in the Hornstrandir Peninsula was divided between two centres - Hesteyri and Hrafnsfjörður - undertaking a number of fieldwork projects and a full programme of exploration, including a crossing of the Drangajökull glacier.
The slidesI took on that expedition lay undisturbed in an attic for 20+ years until early 2009 when they were scanned and processed trhough Adobe Lightroom.
This book contains a selection of the photographs that I took while on the Expedition and provides an illustrated record of our time in Iceland.

My images are mainly "scapes" of one sort or another - landscapes, seascapes, cloudscapes and cityscapes. I try to minimise the amount of digital enhancement done in post-processing, trying instead to achieve the desired effects through the lens, using filters where necessary. What you see on the page is what I saw through the viewfinder.
