About the Book
Inspired by a true story, this tale follows the antics of a large Swan called Casanova, who escaped a private island off the coast of Maine during the winter of 2012. During the following months the swan’s exploits were a popular topic for the Casco Bay islanders traveling on the daily ferry runs. Where did he go? What did he eat? Which island would he visit next? And finally, would he succumb to the winter elements? Casanova’s story was pieced together from the locals and from his caretaker, who tracked the swan’s progress throughout the bay that winter.
