About the Book
The Red Rocks walk on Wellington’s South Coast starts at a disused quarry where you leave your vehicle.
To get there you skirt Ohiro Bay on its western side past a string of houses, some which have been here for over 50 years.
The intrepid individuals who built them are fulfilling a dream to live on the edge of Cook Strait despite the vagaries of the weather .
There is no standard architectural solution with the exception, they all face the sea. Over the years many styles have been adopted.
