About the Book
The motivation behind this book was to understand the impact of visual thinking on beauty. The challenge was to figure out what makes something beautiful and how visual thinking influences what we consider beautiful.
Subjects were photographed using a Sinar model P 4x5 view camera with a Schneider Super-Symmar HM 210mm lens. The Ilford HP5 PLUS film was developed in PMK Pyro. Images were printed on Bergger's chlorobromide grade 4 warm-tone glossy double-weight paper and developed in Dektol. The finish print was toned with Nelson’s gold toner and was then scanned. The digital file was prepared for printing in Adobe Lightroom.
Print on demand technology is a new way to make commercial-quality books. “Beauty and Visual Thinking “ uses Custom Workflow printers which are routinely monitored and calibrated to prevent color drift producing excellent and consistent print quality for each book. “Beauty and Visual Thinking “ also uses 100-pound silk-finish premium paper featuring improved opacity over standard paper and stellar image quality.
For those who don’t like dust jackets, there is ImageWrap. The cover image is directly printed on the durable matte-finish hardcover.
