How precious to relive the memory. Your love of Bonnie is evidence in the first photo of you as a child holding her in the chair. I don't know anything about drawing (or photography for that matter) but I think you captured the shoulders perfectly in Bonnie II. As the beloved Abby here gets older here and she loses weight she would pose an evolving challenge to capture the changes. Thanks for sharing and best wishes in California.
