Book 1 in the "Of Sins and Sailors" series

Sitara is an average teenage girl growing up in her peaceful home in Willowbear Springs. She had been researching local myths on piracy during the 1700s, recently discovering information on a Captain Spectre Silverthorne. After her grandmother's death, Sitara begins to feel lonesome, returning to her thoughts she had previously began in a journal. Within is her novel- a story of pirates and twin stowaways, Castor and Pollux. It is the only thing left sacred to her aside from a necklace given to her by her grandmother. It is in this emerald amulet where her only memories of her grandmother still remain alive.

After an unexpected accident, Sitara finds herself stranded on a deserted island- her only company being that of her amulet and her journal. While on the island, however, Sitara meets many unsuspecting acquaintances- a strikingly handsome stranded passenger as herself, a pair of secretive cousins, a monster which lurks in the forests during the harvest moon, and two mischievous ferrets.

With the help of her new friends, Sitara will attempt to return home once more. However, on her time spent on this forsaken island, she will begin to learn of its secrets, and those of the mysterious Captain Silverthorne.

About the Author

Erin Sinnott
sins4sailors  NY, United States
I am a college freshman living in upstate New York with my mother, father, and younger brother. My hobbies consist of writing novels and poetry, as well as drawing and IMing my friends. I had many of my writings (both poetry and prose) published, my first piece being when I was 12 years of age, and since then have had many more. In total, I have had 9 poems published, 1 short story, 2 news articles- and won 1st place with 1 short story and 1st and 3rd place with two poems. My dream is to become an English major, and to possibly become an editor or an agent in the future. However, I will continue to write in my spare time, since it's my favorite pastime, and I'm always writing.
