He died in April, 2009, just weeks short of a planned 95th Birthday Celebration at the Manhattan Center.

About the Creator
Alan Sugarman produced Frankie Manning's 85th Birthday Celebration at Roseland and his company Zort Music released a commerative CD, Swingin' Away. The Birthday Celebration book had been intended as a gift to Frankie for his 95th Birthday Celebration.
