Over 124 photographs of a small company-owned lumber town in Northern California coupled with personal comments describe the processing of lumber from the woods to the finished lumber. Hilt, California no longer exists, except for a few houses and many wonderful memories. Terry Tallis was born and raised in Hilt and with his camera in the late 1960's, he captured scenes from the town and its lumber mill.
