About the Book
The postcards were formerly the collection of Anatole Pohorilenko, executor of the Monroe Wheeler Estate. The book was conceived by Vincent Cianni, and edited and designed by Vincent Cianni and Marisa Gertz.
The images range from the traditional postcard vista to the more bizarre artifacts of specific locations. While some attempt to evoke grandeur and inspire awe, others make use of stereotypes to simplify and to symbolize a place and time, all fitting within neat, mailable rectangles.
