About the Book
I originally began taking photos of birds as I wanted to improve my photography skills and these models were always available in my garden. The fact that they were nearby also meant that no planning or travel was required. I could just go and take photos whenever I took the urge, weather permitting of course. Little did I know when I started taking bird photos that it would turn into a passion. I do not class myself as a "birder", but more as a photographer of birds.
Therefore, many the images contained in this book are from my garden while others were taken at various places further afield. The taking of photos further afield meant that fieldcraft and technical skills were more severely tested than those taken under the more controlled conditions of my garden.
