About the Photographer:

Francesca Russell is a Long Island family photographer specializing in documentary-style sessions, a family photo archivist, and a mother of two.

British-born and having spent equal time living on the east and west coasts of the U.S., she is fascinated by the themes of identity, family, place attachment, and home. These themes play out equally in her personal work and her commissions for families.

Francesca is a former stage manager, having spent twenty years working in professional theater, where she honed her craft of storytelling.

The ultimate goal of her work is to capture the magic of ordinary moments, bottling up not only how they looked, but how they felt: a small but mighty, and perhaps futile, attempt to freeze time, but at the very least, preserve the memories of a life well-lived.

She is ever honored to bear witness to others and their unique stories.
