MUCK LIFE AT THE BOTTOM is a representative glimpse at the biodiversity of the marine life that lives in the "muck" at the bottom of Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Featuring the underwater photography of Jody and Elissa Thompson, this book begins with an introduction to the ecology and geography of Lembeh Strait, and then becomes a practical reference guide for the identification of over 120 marine species found within recreational dive limits. Photographs of closely related species are grouped together and illustrate myriad variations, unique reproductive and child rearing behavior, mimicry, camouflage and other unique characteristics.

Indices of common and scientific names are followed by a bibliography to assist the reader in learning more about the unusual and rare marine inhabitants of Lembeh Strait.
